California Housing Conferences at 6 Venues in California during September 2022 by the American Enterprise Institute
AEI Is Hosting Some of the Greatest Minds in Housing to Find Solutions to California’s Problems
AEI’s Housing Center is bringing together a diverse array of experts, including builders, politicians, academics, and journalists to tackle California’s housing supply shortage with a blueprint of tested solutions in Light Touch Density and Walkable Oriented Development. This framework has enabled homeowners to capitalize on the value of their property while increasing housing access to economically vibrant communities. The moderately increased density allows cities to make infrastructure improvements, improve municipal services, and increase the customer base for local service providers.
Saul’s Note: We encourage real estate agents and others living in one of the host cities to attend the in-person presentation by Edward Pinto and Tobias Peter plus other speakers. Register today.
Together our team hopes to leverage AEI’s granular and sophisticated data tools that localities, policymakers, and advocates can utilize to address the housing shortage in their communities. In conjuncture with the upcoming conferences, AEI released a free Housing and Economic Analysis Toolkit (HEAT) to help inform local policymakers, interested groups, and citizens across California on how to implement achievable solutions that increase housing with a “light touch.” We are looking to bring our message of Light Touch Density to cities across California so that homeownership can be within reach for Californians feeling the squeeze of rising house prices and rents.
Our work studying SB 9 and SB 10 is generously supported by a grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.
